hi, my name is george ,i own a 93 largo 2lt td , living in swansea s wales . i have run the car for 1year , taken to france camping without problems now is losing oil i think from head . expensive to fix ? would like to hear from anyone with similar problems . george .
Hi Hurry. Welcome to the forums. Depends on where it is coming from. If it's rocker cover then you can easily do it yourself with a new gasket or even liquid gasket.
If it's the head gasket then this will be more expensive. Head gasket itself should cost £20 - £30 but the labour if you can't do it yourself would be more expensive,
BTW I'm only an hour away from you. I live in Pembrokeshire.
As Cueball said it's more likely to be the rocker gasket where it dips into the half moons in the front or back. If it the head gasket i would be surprised, don't forget the front engine covers they have oil going through them.
I would clean the whole area with brake cleaner and see exactly were it's coming from.
