NEW CAT

Post by sparks »

HI ALL
I'm new to this I've had a highway star for the last 3.5 years and have had no problems. infact we drove it all the way from farnborough to stockholm in sweden last year. But now it needs a new cat, and none of the local exhaust centres list the Largo. and my local NISSAN dealer wants £637.00 :o for just the part. can any body point me in the direction of a cheeper supplyer.
yours.

Welcome to the forums :)

As the Largo is unclassified in the UK due to it being an import then it will pass it's MOT without a cat.

Firstly sorry for the delay in replying.
And thank you all for trying to help me with my problem.
I looked in to a de-cat replacement but no one could guarantee the car passing the MOT.
Then a friend recommended CATS-2-U, I typed in the details and to my surprise they had two in stock £105 including delivery. I ordered one and had it in my hands in less than 24hrs fitted by my locale garage the next day and sounding great.
Again thanks to to you all and look forward to more chats.

glad you found a new cat but I still reckon you'd have got away with a straight pipe as the largo is exempt from emissions test so you wouldn't have had a problem :D

Now why did I say that the Largo is exempt from emissions test?? think it must be because the ka24de engine has been around since the early '90's so might be eligible for an exemption..

Seems ok for £90...actually my largo has gone through the last 2 mots tested as a non catalyst fitted vehicle so I think I will opt for the decat pipe after all!
