Hi all
Can anyone give me a rough estimate of the Largo highway star (1996) running costs on the 2l diesel and the 2.4 petrol, torn between two vans at the moment. Also the tax the dealer quoted on the petrol model was £490 ! I was under the impression that as it is pre 2001 it would be £200 odd?! Be great if someone could confirm
Many thanks

Re: Highway star running costs
I've got a 2.4 petrol tax is around 250 fuel is better than my 2005 1.8. zafira, depends how you drive it.... the petrol has 145 bhp so its nice to use it
insurance is ok too....
personally from what I've learned on here the diesels have a lot more problems than petrol. Also the petrol KA24DE engine is what tuners use alot so its very strong and good for 300k if maintained.

Re: Highway star running costs
I have lpg but as Petrol is so cheap i am treating the engine to some amber nectar........2.4 give 300 miles on a full tank at 65 on the motor way but depends how you drive.

Re: Highway star running costs
My diesel it runs like a dream. I drive pretty fast everywhere and get over 300miles to a full tank with a mix of motorway / town n country lanes, but was getting a lot less when i boight it, until I worked my magic it. Would probably get more if I slowed down

Thanks it seems as though both engines are pretty good then.
