Hello everyone
Hello everyone
I've had my largo for just under a year and she's starting to play up its started with plumes of black smoke at pull away and now it feels like my turbo is kicking in when it feels like it .its a cd20 diesel some times putting it in neutral and revving the ballards out of it clears it like an old man coughing lol ive cleaned the air splitter and changed the fuel filter and air filter
Im now scratching my head any advice would be much appreciated

2wd with 7 spoke alloys, replacement speakers and sub in the boot. Awaiting repair after crashing it. :(
4wd also glass top with white alloys.
Can never have too many Largos!
Re: Hello everyone
Might be the EGR valve, that little UFO hanging off the rear of the engine.
It might be jammed open on soot and letting exhaust through, worth a look (or blanking off).
You could try unplugging all three connectors under passenger seat, this disables the vacuum valves that control it and the inlet butterfly valve (which is only there to force the engine to suck more through the EGR on returning to idle). It might be that a sensor fault elsewhere it opening the EGR at the wrong times - guaranteed flat spots and black smoke.

Re: Hello everyone
I've blanked the the egr valve at the actual vavle its self cleaned out most of the black gunk in the air intake but its still playing up seems to be sluggish when cold then starts to pick up a bit more power when its warms up the egr valve has cleared the smoke but im puzzled now just checked to see if I can put it in diagnostics mode but not sure this model can be done

See my egr mod for blanking off, does it not flash with paper clip, but if light is not on then no faults will be stored, check air filter and change fuel filter

Re: Hello everyone
The resistor mod will give it a kick up the rear. Be good to make sure nothing is wrong first though.
