Newly registered...looking for some guidance on repairs

Hi All - I'm currently into my second Largo having upgraded to a Highway Star in August 2013. Unfortunately just starting to have some transmission probs where every now and again it seems to get stuck in a high gear...sometimes sorting itself out after giving the rev counter a seriously good kicking, and occasionally after having to switch the engine off and restart.
I'd really like to get it sorted as I love the Largo but every time I've taken it for other minor repairs / servicing / MOT etc I've invariably been met with 'don't know if we can sort that as its an import'.
I've therefore registered on this forum in the hope that someone can point me in the direction of some reliable repairers as near to the Chesterfield / Sheffield area as possible.
