Post by marktasker »

hi, ive just bought a p reg highway star, in spain. my intention being to re register it in spain.
my question is, can i get lhd headlights and are the headlights compatable with other vehicles?
ps it came without a stereo, what is the standard or recommended unit?

if you press the heat button to left of steering this will give higher rev to warm up quicker

thanks, will have a look and reply when i get a minute, cheers.
the air seperator was just like you said, half full of thick half dried oily gunk.having found the "heat" button, it happily ticks over at about 1100 rpm when cold, but if i turn it off (whilst cold), it tries to tick over at about 700 rpm then cuts out.
there is a warning light on, on the top row looks like a gearbox.
thanks again.

Mine was kicking out alot of smoke when starting and idling low. I would also have to give it a bit of throttle to get her to fire up.

I got a bigger battery(more power to turn the starter n to heat the plugs) changed the heat plugs as they weren't at they're best(fuel not being burnt properly causing it to smoke) and i sprayed wd40 into the inlet manifold to remove all the crap you removed off the air seperator(obviously if air separator is dirty the inlet manifold is more than likely the same). A couple of squirts(dont use loads) then shell be able to breath a bit better.

Now all of this is done she dont even smoke first thing on a cold morning she starts first turn n she will sit there n warm up without the heat button if i wanted. And i stick 5ltr of petrol in with anything over 30ltr of diesel every 3-4 weeks sometimes more to clean out all fuel lines ect. It cheaper than buying red-x as the main ingredient in red-x is petroleum
Hope this helps
