New Largo Owner - Need advice on drive shaft

Post by dtuyi »

Hi everybody,
My name is David, I bought this Nissan Largo Highway star about 2 months ago before I had to travel abroad hence I'm only just starting to use it.
I was informed about the knocking noise when the wheel is turned before I bought it, I've been told that its the front driver's side shaft, its a diesel with 4 wheel drive I believe.
I've seen some brilliant information here on the forum, but I'm still stuck as I don't know of any mechanic who is sure of what to do with this.
I live in Rainham, Essex and bought it in order to take family trips abroad with my family.
for starters I read somewhere that the front shaft can be disconnected as this will improve MPG, I don't mind losing speed as its a family car if this will work.

You can go to rwd however, you will find that the knock is still there. The cv joint must be connected for the brakes to work correctly, I would just get the garage to replace the offending joint and run as designed.
