Woohoo!
I'm very glad to be able to report that everyone's faith in the good old Largo was well placed, and all I needed was the airlock in the coolant system sorting out!
Although my garage had ' a right game' getting it done, they were experienced, having done similar jobs before.
The main thing was that it was something I never could have fixed by myself at the roadside (hence still justifying the 150-mile recovery), yet only costing a couple of hours labour, not a bill for some massive engine rebuild.
Thanks to everyone on here once again for their helpful suggestions.
(Now I'm back off 'up North' (well, Kidderminster) to get this bike......again.)
