coolent sensor

Post by mel »

HI
My names Mel, from South Wales,
On my 4th Largo at the moment,
It's a Highway star, Problem I've got is, it kept stopping and after a while would go again, found out it was a coolant sensor near the top of the engine, got a new one, and it started, went for a day and stopped, someone said it could be a airlock, because I recently had a leak in one of the pipes, done the air lock and started it, went for about 10 minutes stopped again, decided to take the inside out and refill it from the sensor point, went for a while until I started revving it, then stopped refused to go again, checked for fuel ok, checked for spark ok,
Any Ideas, Please

I'm a newbie with these, but have you definately bled all the air out of the system as we had similar symptoms after a split pipe chucked the coolant out. It would start from cold, but cough a little and cut out when warm and not restart until cold again. It was OK prior to the split pipe and once the system was bled properly and topped up it has been fine ever since. You have 3 main bleed points covered by rubber bungs, one on each of the front and rear matrix heaters and another just under the main hose under the passenger seat. You also have another fill point/cap under the drivers seat but you need to remove the engine cover for access. Might be worth giving it another go.
Life's a journey. Take the scenic route !

Not sure where your getting the temp sensor causing a largo not to start ???? You said you have got spark and fuel, the air comes free. I have ran my car with no water in at all, never stalled on me. You need to code read and even better buy a Nissan Consult data link where you can live read the ecu on a laptop.

Hi still working on my Largo Highway,
I've tried bleeding the pipes,
Took the Fuel Pump out and had it tested,
Checked the Maf,
According to Nissan, if the water sensor doesn't work it cuts out the engine, even though I still have a spark
I'm now testing the wiring to this sensor in case theres a break in it,
if there is I can probably test it with a wire direct from the ecu, to see if that work !!,
All I need now is a diagram of the wiring from the ecu!!!, Can anyone help with any more suggestions please,
Thank
Mel
