New to the world of Largo
Hey all. My name is Lee, also known on the net as Cueball. I have come into possession of an N reg Highway Star. Need a couple of things doing to it then it should sail through it's MOT. Needed a front prop shaft which I just received today. Think it may need a new starter now as I kindof overworked it :S
Apparently it needs a valve but not 100% sure if it does and if it does which one it needs. It apparently spews oil onto the exhaust manifold. The EGR valve looks like it could have some discharge. But I thought that was purely exhaust gases on that. Oh well will wait to see what the garage says when they pull it in.
Regards,
Cueball

Re: New to the world of Largo
mine was doing the same and ended up with new engine. get check done on cylinders , mine had thrown no1 piston ring. remove dipstick when running check for excessive back pressure and also check for pressure in water header tank will hiss like mad when you remove. you will get pressure from the head .remove oil filler cap and put hand over it to feel pressure . the oil will be coming through the pressure valve on rocker cover down breather pipe and into turbo then getting sucked into manifold. pull of pipe on breather valve and check for oil. if in the pipe most likely back pressure. if not could be blown turbo oil seal. remember this is worst case senario. this what was wrong with mine. could be a simple turbo seal. hope this helps to get to the bottom of it.
