Might be buying one
Hi all!
I've been looking for a large camping companion for the family for a while and was possibly going to go for a Mazda Bongo or a Toyota Previa but then today I've come across the Largo. Well I think it looks awesome for a start and went to see one near me which is a 1995 N plate that is on sale for £2999.
It looks fine, I've not driven it yet - wanted to do some more reading in to the thing and then found this place.
So hi
I was wondering what it is I should look out for, any tell tale signs of a bad one and I was also wondering are all the Highway Star 2.0TD 4x4?
Thanks

Re: Might be buying one
Thanks everyone!
The guy at the dealers seems like a reputeable fellow (I've met many who aren't) and has guaranteed that any work needing doing on it will get done. For its age it looks immaculate, I was very surprised. It did seem a bit expensive considering the age but it's still a lot of car for the money it seems.
Insurance seems ok - had a quote from Admiral for just over £400 fully comp. I am in no rush to get one, not going camping again until the summer and that's what I want it for. I've just been camping with the family (2adults, 2kids) in our yaris and I'd like something a little more comfortable for next time. Autotrader doesn't seem to have many on their site at the moment, about 9 nationally so to find one so close seems almost like fate. Still I'll take it for a spin tomorrow and get a mechanic to look it over and we'll see where we go.
Thanks again!

Re: Might be buying one
If you go to a dealer they will charge more because they want there profit. If your waiting then keep an eye out on ebay and gumtree. Make sure they have had all the belts changed recently and there isnt much else to worry about with them.

Well I threw caution to the wind and got it. Took it for a spin, it handles a lot better than I thought. Chappy at the dealers says he'll sort out anything that needs doing so I don't mind paying just short of £3k for a lot of car if it's all mechanically sound.
Can't wait to pick it up and get driving!
