stalling

hi there new to the site and largo,s find it a great mpv but i keep stalling on putting it into drive its a diesel any help would be greatly accepted many thanks stuart

Hi Stuart. Welcome to the club.
As for your stalling issue there's a few things you can try to sort this.

Air Splitter:
This is under the passenger seat. It's a plate with an upside down A on it. Remove the two bolts either side and pull it towards you.
It will most likely be full of gunk. Clean it well with something like petrol. When you replace it put some liquid gasket sealer on it.

Gearbox Oil:
To check this you need to remove the driver seat and the panel underneath it.
There is a dipstick underneath which has two different sets of levels. One for checking the level when hot and one for cold.
Make sure the level's are correct.
Also the colour of the oil should be cherry red. If brown or burnt smelling then replace.
There is no easy way to drain the whole lot so you will need to drain the gearbox sump. Refill, run around then dump and refill again. Refresh oil about 3 times to clear it out properly.

Filters:
If you haven't replaced your filters in a while then do this. Fuel filter is underneath the driver seat. Air filter is under the bonnet.
Rather than replace the air filter with another I highly recommend getting and induction kit as these offer better fuel consumption, slightly better turbo spool times and slightly higher performance and are cheaper than the standard ones.

I normally recommend these but they seem to have a pricing error at the moment.

Do a code read first and if it comes back clear then do as Cueball has said above. You can code read any fault codes with just a piece of wire and best of all it costs nothing except 10 mins of your time ;)
