Newbie

Post by ozzie »

Hello all,

Would firstly like to say hi to all you largo friends. Im Ozzie from Portsmouth. I have a '95 import. Ive had a Largo for 5 years without any problems what so ever until recently.

Had the gearbox changed and now it doesnt pull off in Drive. It will do but revs high and takes time. So I have to put it into 1 and drive it like a manual. Also I noticed the van is a lot louder and the gear changes seem to take longer sometimes. I will carry out another oil change, but does anyone know if the gearbox filter needs to changed or just cleaned out. Have read some differing stuff. something to do with a wire mesh?? or am i getting my wires mixed up?

Also after reading some posts here, I have realised that the snow button doesnt work i think. I have no lights coming on and also when I move the switch I cannot notice any change what so ever.

Any ideas??

Regards

Ozzie

If the snow button won't work you'll probably find the gearbox won't. Take the switch of and check for continuerty .
the INSANE one tis a Image thang

If you didnt have the problem before you changed the G Box, it
sounds like maybe they forgot to attach a lead back to your mode
switch.

When you put your foot down & the box kicks down, do you get
the red light on the power button?

If you look through the threads on here, there is a thread for fault
diagnostics for the gearbox, if you get any lights, then the lead is
conected but as NRG says if the mode switch is not connected,
then the G Box wont work properly

the snow button is to make the car pull away in second gear not first so if you have a fault pulling away in first anyway then you may well think its not working.the power button allows you to rev for longer before the gear box changes gear.

I know what the switch is meant to do & also know that
on kick down the red lights up but if your not getting
any lights, there might be a wire not attached to switch
then the ecu to the gearbox & the fly by wire accelerator
wont work either.
