Nissan Largo Friends

Hi everyone

Great site, just bought a 1997 highway star and me and the family love it. But it does have a couple of issues that need sorting;

The sliding door keeps not opening, seemingly whenever it feels like it. I think its something to do with the electrics inside as when its not opening it seems to be draining the battery overnight???

Also the horn keeps going off by itself, like something's vibrating it???

Any advice greatly appreciated, we absolutley love it so really want to get it perfect!

If you take off the plastic shroud around the steering wheel, underneath the column there is a connector with a green wire with white stripe on the loom side, this is the horn signal, try disconnecting it and see if your horn problems stop. If they do then the issue is with the steering wheel switch itself, but if they carry on then there is a problem elsewhere. (That wire goes through the firewall to a relay in the engine bay that actuates the horn, if it shorts to chassis anywhere then the horn will sound).

Thanks very much, I'll try this out asap. The horn sounds generally when I drive over bumpy ground so I think it may be shorting.
