hi
I'm John
my late father had this largo sat in the barn for around 2 years,I decided to get it sorted so blew up the tyres, freed of the parking brake and jump started the engine, took it for a spin and it runs well, so booked it in for an mot and it passed!!! had to get a new battery, and then all was well,,,, until driving back from the mot station, speedo just packed in!!! any ideas?? it has a mph clock, but I think that may be a cover as the shade of white is not the same as the rev counter, any help available,,

also has a lot of engine vibration coming from the passenger side dash

how mechanically simmler to the serena are these

Hiya and welcome! Nice find :)

The dash just needs to come apart and the loom connectors on the back of the dash panel cleaned up a bit. It's a common point of failure. Not too difficult to dismantle.

The speedo having an overlay is because it's a Jap import and originally in kmh rather than mph.

The engine is the same block as Serena and Primera (CD20T) but with an intercooler and some ancillaries in different places.

No idea on the dash vibration, something rattling about in there?

Sometimes under the passenger seat there is a plastic duct between chassis and top of intercooler that likes to rattle about a bit?

Probably still in km if theres just a mph sticker over dials. There is a thread on here how to convert them yourself with a soldering iron in a few simple steps

sometimes they have a converter fitted to back of dash its a little square thing with a couple of wires on attached to original wires

If it has a conversation chip / box that jimmy mentioned the wires go as pictured
