hey up folks
I was looking at getting an Elgrand but have spotted a bargain Largo Highway Star P reg 4x4 auto diesel that needs a bit of work for the MOT
looking to make sure I can get most parts in particular an ABS Ring
cheers for all the questions im sure I will be asking lol

Hi it sounds like fribby's one ,think he had trouble getting reluctor ring. Is it the one off ebay with chevrons down side

it is the very same one
has stalling issue but will look at the valve thing?
aircon don't work
washers don't work
and a few other bits and bobs need doing
I need it as a fishing/shooting bus
the relucter ring is an issue and im not sure where to go from here with it

On the stalling issue, look up tttonyyy's post on "quantity adjuster photos from underneath" as it looks like he may have found a cure if it still does it after you've cleaned the air separator "A-plate", blanked the EGR and gone through everything else electronics, filter & timing wise. (it's basically a 470 Ohm resistor to account for wear & tear and I've done it today too, to great effect)

As far as the ABS goes, I'm not 100% whether you can still get away with this, but if all else fails you could try removing all 4 wheel sensors, the ABS warning bulb from the dash & the fuses/relays associated with the system thus running without it. (the brakes will just function normally, as they do now but without the warning light being on).

Which wheel has the problem do you know? perhaps you could try just cleaning the ring thoroughly if theres no obvious crack, as they can throw a code if they get dirty over the years. Or I'm sure someone will have a complete hub for sale on that auction site... Welcome anyway, hope to hear more of the project & what solution you reach :)
