Hello.
10/40 semi synthetic seems to be the norm just use the search bar on the top right of page,
most questions are answered. This site rocks, full of friendly folk.

that's what I use in my petrol largo - recently bought 5 litres from Asda for £16 so you don't need to spend much:-)

Welcome to the forum, careful it's addictive! :D

EDIT-: and as a rule of thumb, most conventional car/van/motorcycle engines made before about 1999-2000ish (highly tuned/specialist high power lumps aside) will happily run on 10w/40 mineral or semi-synthetic and in fact don't need or benefit from any of the latest super-duper hi tech fully synth lubes with this & that additive. Some will even be damaged by switching straight to a modern fully synth with all sorts of detergents as it can dissolve/dislodge residue that built up over the last 15-20 years of running on "normal" oil.

Like I say, just a rule of thumb really & not concrete. But by and large, if you have something built before 2000 & desperately need to top up the oil you will be fine using 10w/40 mineral or semi, at least until you can confirm what is recommended & usually you'll find the recommendation is just that. Very high mileage engines may benefit from a heavier oil like 20w/50 if they show low oil pressure or use more than you'd expect when fed on 10w/40

The only difference between 10w/40 & 10w/40 "Diesel" or "Turbo Diesel" specific oil is the amount of detergents/dispersants in the oil, some will even be just the same (apart from the price).
