Newbie from Manchester

Hi,

Just a quick post to say hello. :)

I'm looking into buying a largo highway star sometime in the near future. I currently drive a Starlet Glanza V and have a jap performance car background (2 skylines and 3 Celica GT4's) and really need to think about getting something more family friendly but still with the rare factor. :)

I was just wondering how much the car tax is on a 2 litre diesel largo?

Regards,

Welcome.

As it's a pre March 2001 motor the tax will be a standard base rate which I believe is £225 for a year. Doing it for 2 x 6 months works out a bit dearer over the year.

Thanks chaps. :) I pick up my highway star on Saturday morning, so lots of messing to be done over the weekend. :)

Also, does anybody know which of the CD20 series engines from the following wikepidia page would be fitted to my 1995 2.0 Litre diesel Highway star please? :)

Hard to predict which engine you will find fitted, all very similar but some are fly by wire fuel pumps.

Welcome to the No 1 largo site.

Hi and welcome to the site.

You could have either the CD20ETi which has the electronically controlled pump or the earlier CD20Ti which has the mechanical pump. Both engines are identical just one is electronically controlled.

Easiest way to tell is if you have an electronic Heat button then you have electronically controlled CD20ETi with fly-by-wire pump.
If you have a choke style heat knob then it's the earlier one with the mechanical pump and no ECU.

Another tell tale sign is you will have an engine Managment light next to the coil light on the dash if you have the CD20ETi or an image of a drip coming from a filter for the CD20Ti.
