Hello Largo people,
I've just bought myself a second hand 1996 2.0TD Largo Highway Star, completly standard with 92,000 miles on the clock and no paperwork. I'm planning to drive around Europe for the next few months in it, but there's a few problems I need to sort first and hoped somebody could shed some light on where to start.
1) It runs and starts fine, but the check engine/engine management light is flashing all of the time — previous owner says it has been like that for nearly 1 year! I'm yet to find a diagnostic kit that fits it, so kit may have to be Nissan dealership Was wondering if somebody could tell me what sort of things it could be? Best and worst case scenrio? ( Like I said it's running fine and I don't see any misfires or smoke and the oil and coolant looks normal.
2) Sliding door won't open — it is the soft closing device (that pulls the door in tight) that seems to be jammed. Does anybody have any quick fixes or is it a new part?
3) I have a spare wheel and jack, but no wheel brace or jack handle — am I missing the obvious or is it really lost?
4) Any advice on a basic service - would it be filters, oil, coolant and sparks as normal? And is there something special I need to do?
5) Any basic checks I should do to test condition of any crucial components before I set off?
Big thanks in advance to anybody who can belp out - I've not had much look on the Interweb so far.
Jules

Hi And Welcome
Possible answer for three is that the handle may be in the left hand compartment looking in from the tailgate. It is unlikely you will find a diagnostic kit in there as well so search the forums or
some of our incredibly helpful Largo members may be along and able to point you in the right direction:)
