Which to buy?

Hi friends
I'm looking to buy my first Largo and am very excited.
I've found a few online but would like to know whether you would recommend the 2.4 petrol or 2.0 diesel. Any advice regarding reliability, mpg and longevity would be greatly appreciated, plus any other things to look out for.
Thanks in advance
Ross

Hello and welcome, I have a Diesel sxg. I love it but mpg is not good specially wherei live. If I had the choice again I would get a petrol. But hey they're all cool. B-)

Hi and welcome to the forum. I have a petrol as its bullet proof and has a timing chain and things like a new fuel pump don't cost a grand.

It depends on what you want really. I have a diesel but would love a petrol. But i couldn't afford to run a petrol. The petrol cost more to run but is bullet proof. the diesel is less powerfull but can run on veg oil if you want and you can get away with the emissions better when it comes to mot's.

I've got a diesel and to be very honest, it's gutless. It struggles to get above 80mph and the speed drops at the sight of a hill.
I love my bus but if I had my choice again, it would be petrol for me. My diesel only returns 28mpg which is about the same a the 2.4 petrol version

Another petrol owner here:) mpg will be more in a diesel(in my experience) - someone thought I was running a V8 engine the other day which was a nice compliment! Must have been the fat exhaust that had them confused:) Had no problems to report in my 2.5 years of ownership.I have lpg too which helps a little.
