I have been looking after my son's 1996 WD30 Highway Star for the last couple of years, but I have only just found you. As he uses his van for work it is suffering from a saggy rear end. Does anyone have any solutions for uprating the rear end.

Hi and welcome to the forum.
Rear dampers can be uprated but only by importing from Japan.

Thanks for the info, I was rather afraid that was the position. Can you help me as to how I would go about costing/sourcing them.

Could it just be that the gubins at the rear are just tired?

If this is the case, would it help to just put replacements on that have not been subject to
heavy use.

Bear in mind the age of the car & you say hes been running around for a couple of years with
his gear in the back.

i would just replace with second hand parts and save a forturn.if you import from japan you have to pay import tax and i think its about 20%(i could be wrong)then the post office want 8 quid for a handling fee.

I agree Gix. The way forward is secondhand parts.

As you can see from previous post, I've saved LOADS going this route.
