Hi everyone I'm new here just to say hello! And also need some help! I've got a 93 K reg grandage full time 4x4, drives really well with 95k miles. It's a diesel with manual airflow control under the steering wheel. It starts ok when cold but the idling is a bit struggling at first, but will be fine after driving a bit. When struggling happens there is a lot of White smoke and also strong smell of diesel! So any suggestions? I just bought the bus and not serviced it yet. Thanks very much!

Hey Welcome to the club.

Sounds like timing. Or Maybe something throwing the timing out.

Strong smell of diesel? Have you checked in engine compartment for diesel leaks in particular around the bleed off pipes on top of the injectors? How is it like starting in the morning does it smoke more on first start?

One thing you could try is take the inspection plate off behind drivers seat three ten mm bolts and on first start in the morning pump the pump on top of the filter in order to re prime the fuel system if it then starts without issue or makes it better then you have a leak air leak somewhere.
