Greetings from Cheddar Gorge!

Hello all from sunny Somerset happie
I'm a newbie still scratching up the funds for a nice white Highway Star after selling my 4x4 to help pay off a humungous £6000 Vets bill on the wifes horse
I'll get there- even though I'll have to sell my own pride & joy, a 460ltr Marine Reef Tank full of corals & fish (a 30+ year hobby)...
Just looking forward to getting back into Japanese tin, as although I've never owned a Largo before, I've done the 'fast cars'- Skyline GTR, Mitsubishi EVO, Supra Mk4, Legnum VR4 twin turbo, & as my back disintegrated, (forced to retire early, brain haemorrhage, collapsed lung, damaged spine & even worse- MAN FLU!) 3x Landcruiser Amazons, 2x Mazda Bongo campers etc, trucks that I could still get in & out of; try convincing someone in Tesco's car park whom you've asked to help pull you out of your Skyline's deep Recaro seat that 'No, I haven't been slurping the local scrumpy- I don't even drink' ...
Anyway, greetings to all :)

Hi Templar an welcome to the forum.

Wow that's a nice list of cars. Good luck in your largo hunt and hope you raise the funds as quick as you would like.
Id of kept the skyline even if I had to have a lift out lol. If I didn't have so many kids I would have a nice modded r33 gtr :P. But must admit the largo turns more heads :)

Thanks! You'd have liked my R33 Skyline GTR then, I think... 860bhp JUN engined insanity, lowered 30mm, 17" alloys, massive Brembo's, Recaro Ergomed air conditioned front seats, etc etc... Bought from an 'Investor' in the days when no-one even knew what a Skyline GTR actually was (a joy 'ambushing' M3's & the like- top speed over 210mph, but a nightmare to find insurance at that time- thanks, Adrian Flux)...
That said, the single 'big' turbo conversion 520bhp Supra Mk4 was much more of a 'drivers' car- big engine, rear wheel drive- an absolute joy, & great fun for drifting & track days...
Funnily enough, the car I miss most (& I've had hundreds in my 40 years of legal driving- although I was a 'biker' from the age of 13) was a '66 VW US import LHD Split Screen camper; I rebuilt that from the ground up, slammed the suspension, Empi alloys, sprayed it Canary Yellow over metallic Graphite, Recaro front seats, disc brake conversion & finally a Porsche engine to replace the original 1600cc twin port... Currently living in St Tropez, as a friend got a job working on yachts there & needed somewhere to sleep cheaply enough... Wish I'd gone with it, sometimes, though :(
Ah well...
I've always said 'must get a nice white Highway Star, Largo or Elgrand'... Almost bought a 2/4wd white Elgrand Highway Star 4 years ago, but the wifes Discovery failed the MOT miserably so I had to buy a Range Rover to pull her horse box, instead... Regretted it ever since, & too poor nowadays since being 'forced' to retire after 17 years in Law Enforcement- without pension, yet, either

Hey Templar. The Largo is a great car to drive around in. It's a head turner and so comfortable to drive. I always said I would never have an automatic. But now I love the auto box :)

Just come from the forsale section and I must say I love your tank. I have a tropical tank which is currently at my sisters as I have no room for it.

Thanks, Cueball... I think I've got lazier as I get older- I love auto's nowadays, I have to admit ;) Perhaps it's also the fact that the rear seats make up into a bed that's making Largos more attractive
I'll be gutted when the Reef tank goes, to be honest- some of the stuff in there I've had for years; I was part of a very small group of marine reef 'ground breakers' back in the 70's, I guess, managing to breed Clowns (Nemo's) & Seahorses under hugely difficult conditions (only stopped breeding them last year); I also managed to breed Discus back then, when only wild caught stock was available (I imported my own stock- I remember Discus being £75 a pair, then- a huge outlay compared to today). Still love the wild 'neon blue' variety, though...
I'll start up again once the Vet bills are cleared & I'm lying in the back of my Largo
