Yes this does sound like it's right up NRG's street but it does sound you have sprung a few leaks...you need to use exactly the right(good quality) rad caps as well or you could run into more problems.

When you say dripping from sump I'm guessing it's front of engine. If so need to look at bottom of water pump behind fan.
Don't put cold water in it when it's hot or you'll crack the head.

I'm pretty sure it's from the front by fan will try and push my hubby under to check but not sure what to look for, not very mechanically minded but willing to try lol

Water pump does seem like a good diagnosis so hope you get it sorted out:-)

Turns out it was a leaky pipe above water pump. All looks good now I have cast my magic hands upon it.

Many thanks to NRG, he found a split hose in the most awkard of places, and we got a replacement, going to take her for a good run later :-)
