My Audi's got a 72 litre tank and I get about 200 miles to the tank, with the mileage I do it basically means I fill up every other day. If I can get nearer to 300 miles range with the biggest tank i can fit, I'd be happier. Also I rather my fuel bill wasn't any bigger than it currently is - I'm getting around 17mpg on lpg at the moment and I guess it'll do about 24 on petrol so it's going to be close but I think a Largo might just be cheaper to run.

I'm suprised that the diesels are so bad on fuel - 26mpg??? My old T4 was only a 1.9td 68 brake but you could get 35mpg out of that easily. If I go diesel, the mpg is whatever it does and the cost of diesel is £1-38 maybe, at least with petrol I've got the lpg option and the actual cost per mile WILL be less because lpg is about £0.68. Even if I go for a pro-fitted lpg system, with the miles I do, it'll payback in months, not years.

It all depends on how well the van is serviced. Also crusing gains a lot of MPG as around town in the lower gears tend to drink the fuel.

It'll be well serviced, I don't do any short trims and don't drive round town much. If I could get 30mpg average I'd be pretty happy.

Petrol's are a lot more forgiving for service. Diesels need to be serviced regular to keep them running their best.

just noticed this thread, you're going to miss that V8 Audi performance but hope you manage to sort out a replacement - sounds like you're pretty handy which will help with any future problems that might arise:) The Largo should be more economical I should think, just need to see how big a tank you can squeeze in!
