Post by Klingon »

Hi, i just got a 96 petrol largo in NZ for use as a campervan on a 1 year trip of the country.

It didnt come with a manual, so Im hoping some of the fine folks on this forum can help me to keep up with some maintenance, I dont even know what kind of oil it takes!
Cheers,
Lee

Welcome along from wales.
10/40 semi engine oil(slide passenger seat back and lift carpet theres a inspection hatch with 1 nut on for access to dipstick for engine oil).
Cant remember wether petrol version is automatic or manual but for automatic:
Dextron 3 (automatic transmission fluid) for automatic gearbox and power steering fluid (slide driver seat forward and theres a inspection hatch under carpet with 3 bolts, thats for gearbox dip stick) gearbox has to be at normal running temp to get a good reading & ( next to glove box there a little bit of the center console that pulls off for power steering fluid reservoir). Hope this helps

Depends how old it is but usually 15W-40 is a good grade to use.

I tend to use 20W-40 in my diesel as it's cheap $15 for 4L haven't had any issues. Fuel filters can be got at partzonline or supercheap auto.
